About
The 1866AA
Let’s take a moment to reflect on the profound impact of The 1866 Alumni Association, Incorporated. The Association was established in 1878, and it was officially certified by the Secretary of State of Missouri in July 1978. However, in June of 2025, the name was changed to “The 1866 Alumni Association, Inc.” The Association is dedicated to charitable, educational, cultural, patriotic, literary, and scientific endeavors.
We have an essential mission—to encourage qualified students to attend Lincoln University of Missouri and to support the acquisition of necessary funds for the university’s operations and growth. By promoting higher education standards at the university and backing its various initiatives and programs, we are actively helping to its development and success.
As we move forward, we call upon all alumni and supporters to join hands in upholding the legacy and core principles established by our visionary founders, Laura C. Banks, Maxine E. Fisher, and Earl Wilson, Jr. Your participation is not just welcome but crucial in preserving and promoting the values that define our alma mater.
As alumni, we share the soldier’s dream and ask that you stand united to ensure the continued prosperity of our beloved university.
Our History
The Lincoln University Alumni Association has a rich history dating back to its establishment in 1876. It has always welcomed all alumni and former students with open arms. The association has consistently supported the school in various capacities, including offering a scholarship covering board and tuition for the year to students who successfully referred more than five new enrollees. This initiative not only fostered a greater sense of investment in the school’s well-being among students but also increased the overall school population. It proved to be more effective than traditional recruitment efforts.
Fast-forward to the present day, the legacy continues through the Lincoln University of Missouri National Alumni Association Incorporation, which was established in 1978. This association fosters lasting connections, promotes philanthropic involvement, and safeguards the university’s esteemed heritage. We aim to unite the university’s alumni, associates, students, and supporters to advance its mission, enhance its growth, and enrich the educational journey for current and future generations. We warmly extend an invitation to you to join us in upholding this tradition of support and camaraderie.
